Addicted
I have an addiction. To books. I can’t seem to help myself, I have this horrible need to read all the time. I spent a ridiculous amount of money at Bookman’s (used bookstore) last week and have 25 books on loan from the library (don’t worry, I’m never overdue). I don’t seem to feel complete unless I have a stack of unread books waiting for me somewhere in the house. I have partially read books scattered throughout the house so that I can pick something up and read no matter where I am… in my bedroom, the living room, the kitchen. lol I think I crossed a line somewhere and now I’m totally sunk. (Don’t be alarmed, though, I don’t neglect my kids or my house and I still manage to get dinner on the table. lol I’m addicted, but I love my family even more than I love books. However, my designing does occasionally suffer for it!)
Anyway, I realized today that several of my in-progress books had things like dollar bills, receipts, and grocery lists inserted as bookmarks. lol So I hopped on the computer and made myself a few bookmarks and then thought I would share them with you. You know, in case you are using dollar bills, receipts, and old grocery lists for bookmarks, too. lol
Thanks for stopping by!

LOL. Ellie you’re so cute!

My last name is Read (yes, READ) and my husband definitely lives up to it!
Thanks for the cute bookmarks!
Awesome bookmarks! I love the colors and the elements you have used! My daughter teaches 4th grade and I think I am going to offer these to her so she can pass them out at the end of the year to encourage the children to do summer reading. I hope this is okay?! Thank you very much for this very nice gift!

Thank you so much! These will really come in handy. I have yet to use dollar bills, but I do use receipts, pictures, yarn labels… basically anything thin as a paper that happens to be at arm’s length when I need it! Thanks again.
thanks so much!now my books will have beautiful adornment instead of bits of papers!
Those are brilliant, thank you. They will make a welcome change from chinese takeaway menus, used envelopes, old shopping lists and anything else that comes to hand when I am reading!
I’m addicted, too! I’ve been known to finish a novel a day when I’m really sunk! I’m glad you don’t let your house or kids suffer. I’m afraid, I haven’t quite my addiction under control yet. The condition of my house definitely shows when I’m into a good book!
I’m the same way. Unfortuantly situations have left me out of books at the moment, and I’ve been suffering sooooooo much!! Bought one yesterday during my shopping trip, but done with it already. I used a $1 bill just last night. LOL. LOVE the bookmarks, going to save them for when I get ink again.
Love the bookmarks, thanks so much !
OMGosh Ellie!! I love these…thank you so much!!
THANKS!
Wow, so I’m not the only one! Thank you for these gorgeous replacements.
Thanks for the darling bookmarks. I *love* to read, and I have several “in progress” books everywhere; there’s even a book in my car so I can read while waiting in the pick up lane at my children’s schools. The bookmarks will come in handy.
Thank you for the pretty bookmarks!!
thanks Ellie! my daughter just asked me for bookmarks…perfect timing…and all I have to do is print them! they are so cute.
Thanks! I love these and having the calendar on them will help me get my books back to the library on time.
THANK YOU!!
LOL! You are too funny! It’s nice to know I’m not the only book-aholic, though. I have quite a few really gorgeous bookmarks, but I can never seem to find them when I need them. So, these will come in handy. Plus, I like that you put a calendar on them! Thank you so much!
Thank you — I so needed these!! Bless you!
Lol, I also use: candy wrappers, train or bus tickets… and old recipe that I thought it was lost, hehe, so thank you very much for these Ellie, I love your work. Cris
Thanks for the bookmarks! I laughed out loud when I read about what you use as bookmarks; because, I too have used what ever was at hand to mark my place. LOL
How cute!
Very cute! We’ll stick them in with our Grandma goodie boxes! Thank U=)
I collect bookmarks since my school days (have some from libraries that don’t exists anymore..) so your gift it’s perfect for me.
Tnx, Ari
I love your bookmarks. Thank you very much from a girl whose regular bookmarks are still stuck in partially read books, and therefore has to fall back on used envelopes, store receipts etc. :))
Thanks for sharing the bookmarks!!
Love the bookmarks – having the calendar on them is really handy!
I too have books with random items stuck in them for bookmarks. Barnes & Noble opened a couple new bookstores closer to my home with a Starbucks in them. They keep stacks of bookmarks on the counter & I’ve been nabbing a few every time I go in so I have a stash of “real” bookmarks now!
so cute!I like it. Thanks.
I am a bookmark freak too…thanks so much!!!
LOL – and I thought I am the only one who has more than one book at time started…I do use postcards, receipts, etc as bookmarks. Thank you so much for the freebie.
Thanks!
Adorable!
Thank you!
These are great and very useful. Thank you.
Thank you! I can’t wait to print and use these wonderful bookmarks!
Elllie, those are so cute! Thanks for making them… I am sure they work much better than strips of money! Nice.
I read alot of books also but only one at a time… it might be 2 books a day though. Except ever since I started digi scrapping, I never read anymore!
Thanks so much for these adorable bookmarks!
Thank you so much for these, Ellie.
great freebie thanx
Adorable! Thanks so much for sharing!!
These are so cute – thank you!
I think your reading habits are AWESOME! I love to read, too, it just seems I can never find enough time. I always have a book that I am reading, but it takes me a while to finish because I am lucky if I can read for 10 minutes a day. The kids are getting older, so I am sure I’ll be able to get back to “the old days’!
I think it was you who turned me onto the Twilight books! Thanks for that! :-)
I love books as well. I feel incomplete if I don’t have at least 5 books I haven’t read waiting for me. I reread my books over and over and have several stacks right next to my bed. I even carry one with me at all times when I go out. Nice to see another book lover.

Ellie-I am addicted to reading too! I just finished the 14th book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich and now I’m reading the 2nd book in the House of Night Series (another vampyre series!). I LOVE the Stephanie Plum books! Have you read them??? If not, you may want to check them out!! They totally rock and are soooo fun to read!!
Awesome, Thanx4Sharing!!!
Thank you!!
The book marks are wonderful thankyou
and yes I have used money as bookmarks…as a teenager I even used $20 bills lol
now its usually receipts and peices of envelopes and junk mail.
Too cute to resist!! thank you Ellie! xoxo
