Good Reads

Well, I’m sorry to say there is nothing new from me this week.  There would have been, but I’ve been having computer problems and I lost a whole bunch of things that I’ve been working on.  The last time I backed stuff up was about a month ago.  (I know, I know, don’t scold!  lol)  So I didn’t lose everything, but enough that it makes me want to go back to bed and cry.  Anyway, I will have some new things out next week.  Promise!

In the meantime, are any of you registered at Good Reads?  I just discovered it!  If you decide to join up, please feel free to add me as a friend.  You can do that HERE. I’m curious to know what you all are reading! I just added widgets in my sidebar for books I’ve read and books that are on my to-read list.  Right now I’m in the middle of Colleen Gleason’s Gardella Vampire Chronicles.  I accidentally discovered her last week when my DH took me out for my birthday (which of course included a stop at the bookstore!) and now I am hooked!  What are you reading right now?  And do you have any suggestions as to what should I start reading after I finish the last Colleen Gleason book?

Have any of you read all of Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse books?  I have them sitting on my shelf but haven’t actually started reading them yet.  Any opinions on them?

Ellie, thanks for the Good Reads link. I found the site, too, the other day. I need to add a bunch of books. Right now I am on New Moon, almost done!!! I have Eclipse on the way. I am also in the middle of Midnight Sun…which I am really enjoying Edward’s perspective. Really makes more sense now.

I will check out The Gardella Vampire Chronicles. Those sound good!

    Happy Easter!!!

Ellie, can’t help with the books but I can recommend Mozy Online Backup for backing up your files. It works quietly in the background so you never have worry. I had two external HD’s and my computer go out all at the same time. Thank goodness for Mozy!!! The initial back-up takes a lot of time but then the rest is done rather quickly. It even backs up your external drives!

P.S. I absolutely LOVE the way you design! I wish I knew how you make such beautiful pastel papers and everything else that you make!

I’m not a big vampire fan, but have liked Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series, so give them a try. :)

Bummer on losing some of your work.

I just finished a GREAT series, the first book is Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder! It was GREAT! The of course there is anything by Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic book series, the movie was NOTHING like the book!

Love the Sookie Stackhouse series. They are back in production and will be back with season 2 on June 14th. The series stays fairly close to the book although you will be hard pressed to finde the differences. And they have done a great job casting Eric. Can’t wait to see him in pink tights!! whoooohoooooooooooooo!!

I have the series, I’ve read the first two…I really like them (but they ARE more adult). Worth reading! Right now I’ve started the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, I like them too. I’m reading the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz…if you like him, they’re great. Another great Vampire series that I really liked and have read the whole series and waiting on the next one is Jeaniene Frosts’…the first one is called Halfway in the Grave…GREAT series. I love to read :) Hope that helped some!

Looking at your good reads list you should have fun reading the Sookie Stackhouse books.

  • I have the Gardella Vampire books checked out from the library, I stumbled across them awhile back when I was browsing through the new books section and thought they sounded interesting! I’m really excited to read them, just have to finish a few others I have checked out first! I haven’t read the Sookie Stackhouse books yet but I have read a ton of other great vampire series (they are on my GR list) :)

I wish I could read a bit more…but I just picked up another set of sci/fi books…read about 2 pages before I passed out last night, hmm! But I just finished The Host…so needless to say, I totally ripped off your “Ian Rocks!” flair and it is currently my avi at SO!! Thank you very much! But I have to say, I kept waiting for Ian to pick her up and bring her to the corn field and make out…sigh, never happened, but loved the book!

I am definitely gonna do the goodreads thing. I am gonna have to follow you in reading trends apparently because Edward… oh my! I finished reading the 3rd book and am waiting to borrow the last one from a friend. Of course, now that I have read them… I am seriously wanting to read them again.

I found a new series mentioned on Ksharon’s blog. I blogged about it last week… uhmm… whats it called again? city of ash, city of fire and city of bones I think. I am gonna check them out soon.

Hi Ellie, I’ve been reading The House of Night Series by
P.C. Cast. They are Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed, and Hunted. It’s supposed to be for teens- which I am not.
There’s cursing in it and it’s not the best writing but somehow I got roped in. It’s about a school for humans turning into vampires. Just a suggestion. :) Lucy
