Happy DSD Weekend! (And a Freebie!)
Wow, Digital Scrapbooking Day crept up on me really fast this year! Since I’m not actively designing personal use kits anymore I don’t really have a sale to advertise, although I am extending my 70% retiring items sale through the weekend. After that they’ll be gone and I’ll just be selling commercial use products at Sugar Hill Co. However, I do have a freebie for you! I’ve been feeling really grateful lately, especially for the lovely Autumn coolness that has shown up around here! It was a long hot summer and I am SO happy to see Fall. I hope this kit expresses my gratitude (for life in general) and joy that Autumn has finally arrived. (Download links are below the image this time.)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a really fantastic DSD!
Finding Pumpkins & Little Miss Spooky
Yesterday we took the boys out to a farm to get pumpkins for Halloween. My parents went with us and we all had a really great time, but it’s still a little on the hot side here in Arizona and I was more than ready to head home after a couple of hours in the sun! The boys had a great time, though! I haven’t had time to scrap the photos yet, but I did make up a couple of collages on Picnik that turned out pretty cute!

I also have a little freebie for Halloween coming up. I’m thinking I should have put a witch’s hat on her, but I didn’t think of it soon enough. I hope you like her anyway. Just click the image to download.
Thanks for dropping by!
Sale is Back & Pumpkins Freebie!
Finally! After a bunch of problems and headaches and troubles, my shop is finally fixed and working like it should, so I can continue my 70% off sale that got cut short. I’ll be running the sale through the end of October to make up for the time it was closed. PLEASE email me if you have any trouble downloading your purchases or with navigating the shop itself. It seems to be working perfectly, but you never know when it’s going to get quirky on you! lol
I also have a little freebie for you. I was in a mood for pumpkins today. I haven’t started decorating my house for Fall yet (I know, I’m so behind on everything, I’ll get right on it!) but I was at my mom and dad’s last night and their house is beautifully decorated for Fall, so I was inspired this morning to do something to get me ready to get my Autumn on! haha Just click the image below to download the pumpkins.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
Fall Tags Freebie
Just a quick note about my personal use kits – I’m working on getting everything moved over and once that’s done I’ll reopen my shop and resume the 70% off sale. I didn’t think it would take this long, but we ran into some snags. I’ll send out a newsletter when it’s ready, though.
And I have an Autumn-ish freebie today! Some tags that could be used for journaling or printed out and tied to little treat bags, maybe? Anyway, just click the image to download!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

The Glad Scientist
So this isn’t so much about science as it is about experimenting, but the end result was sufficiently science-y, I think. A few days ago I was doing some random tutorials that I found online and I ended up really liking the end result of one of them. (You can find the specific tutorial I did here. It’s for Illustrator.) My end result didn’t turn out quite like it was supposed to, but hey, I’m a beginner, gradients confuse me, and I’m just glad it looked recognizable.
After making some cute notepads with them I thought I’d go ahead and give them away here on my blog in case any of you have need of shiny test tubes! lol Just click the image to download.
(Their actual size at 300dpi is about 3.5 inches.)
Have a great weekend!

Apple Picking (& Freebie)!
Since I’ve been concentrating on my CU products I haven’t done many kits in recent months. However, a couple of weeks ago my lovely friend Melanie (L’Posh) suggested we do a collab and I was really excited to get started! We ended up doing a apple theme with colors that I think work for fall or any other time of the year. There are lots of apples in the kit, but also lots of other items that work for general layouts. You can pick it up in my shop or at Mel’s shop at Polka Dot Plum.
And I have this freebie to go along with it. (PU & S4H only, please.)

Panda Stickers Freebie
This past week I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to learn Illustrator (which I saved and saved and saved for and FINALLY was able to get, YAY!) and do a little experimenting with it. I think my designs generally tend to lean toward cuteness more than any other style and while I don’t want to get stuck in a rut where that’s ALL I do, I think that if you’re comfortable doing something and it works for you, then you should stick with it. So I’ve been doing a lot of research lately keeping the question “what is cute?” in mind. Tonight I started out simple and drew a panda, because pandas are naturally cute anyway. Kind of hard to mess that up, except that my panda wasn’t all that cute to begin with. I didn’t save my original image, but I wish I had so that I could show you the changes I made. In the journey to cuteness, my panda received shorter, fatter legs and arms, a very round face with low features and a high forehead, a round, round tummy, and sparkling eyes. He was definitely much cuter by the end!
Anyway, I made him into a couple of stickers. I thought he might be a good freebie since black and white pretty much goes with anything, right?

Hope you like him! Have a great weekend!

Back to School Freebies
School started today for my kids and I made a couple of freebies to celebrate the occasion. I made up some tags for their backpacks and I think they turned out pretty cute! They both wanted the one with the school bus on it as they are both OBSESSED with school buses. lol And I also made an alpha from that penmanship paper they use for little kids when they’re learning to write. Looks very grade school-ish, I think. Just click the images to download.
Happy back to school!

Blush
So yesterday I was browsing through some of my favorite sites and came across this color palette at Design Seeds:
I totally fell in love with it…

And made it into a mini kit!
I ended up adding a darker neutral for contrast, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Here’s the palette I ended up with:

And here’s a stacked paper that I made. Just click the image to download:
The 50% off sale at my personal shop is still going (until August 7th), so if you want to grab the mini it’s only $1.75 right now!
