I've started using My Plate at Live Strong to track my eating and I LOVE it. It makes it so easy to keep track of everything, especially since there's an app for it so I can use my iPod to record what I eat when I'm not at my computer. :)

Hybrid Pumpkin Template

First of all, thank you SO MUCH to those of you who have visited my shop in the last couple of days.  I really appreciate your business and hope that you enjoy the kits!

Now, before I show you my pumpkin I have to admit that I am not a paper crafter at all.  I’m a digi-girl at heart, I feel most comfortable behind the computer where I can ctrl+z away any mistakes I happen to make.  I love the look, the feel, the smell of paper, but.. paper is frightening.  Paper is intimidating.  Paper is… permanent!  But I gave it a shot anyway, because I wanted a cute pumpkin to put on my shelf and I had some lovely paper that I just picked up at Hobby Lobby.  lol  Otherwise my paper would just sit there on my desk looking beautiful and being useless.  Instead I made it into this!

Anyway… I made a template in Illustrator, cut it out on my Cricut (is it lame that I’m proud of that?  haha), assembled it with my trusty adhesive dot roller (because glue sticks are apparently worthless when it comes to this sort of thing, as I discovered), and it actually looked like I thought it would!    I was AMAZED!  So of course I want to share it with you!  I included an SVG in case you have a cutting machine, but if you don’t I’ve also included a PNG and JPG so you can print it on the back of some pretty cardstock and cut it out with scissors just as easily.  I used 7 different papers, but you could use more or less.  For the “vines” I just cut some thin (1/4 inch) strips of green cardstock and curled them around my finger, then glued one end to the stem.

Unexpected Awesomeness

Don’t you love when you come across something wonderful and interesting when you weren’t expecting it?  That happened to me yesterday while browsing through the Ginger Scraps forums!   Laura, one of the Gingerbread Girls, posted about a hybrid project she did with her daughter and it was so cute I totally had to post about it.  :D  It’s a mobile made using my Monsters kit!  Isn’t it adorable?  I totally want to make one with my boys now.  They’d LOVE that!

Organic Kit at Scrapable

Since Sunshine Studio has been down for the last couple of weeks I’ve felt a little bit like I’ve been moving in slow motion, waiting for the reopening!  But I’ve been working really, really hard to get some new product in there for our reopening celebration on June 1st.  I’ve got a new kit coming out, a super sweet grab bag, and a whole bunch of That Girl CU items, too!  In the meantime, I’ve been invited to stay on for another month as a guest at Scrapable, so I have some new stuff there as well.

I created this vegetable/fruit garden kit for one of my CT girls and then I couldn’t stop and ended up with an add on as well!  They’re both 30% off this weekend at Scrapable!

And I made this little printable freebie.  There are the two shown in the preview, but I also included a couple of blank ones in case you wanted to add your own images or text.  Last night I discovered that gift cards fit really nicely inside them, too!  Just click the image to download.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!

Boo! Treat Bag Toppers

Let me start off by saying that I am no hybrid expert, so I wanted to start out simple. Very simple! So I made these cute little treat bag toppers and they turned out really cute.  My little boys just turned three and are in preschool now so later in the month I’m going to send some treats to school with them for their classmates, but I wanted to try them out now to be sure they printed out right and everything.  And they did!  Anyway, I made them with my Boo! Halloween kit.  I’ve included them with Happy Halloween on them, but also blank in case you want to put something else instead.  Once you cut them out and fold them they measure approximately 3.5″x2.25″.  I’m using them with 3.5″x7.5″ polypropylene (cello) bags, they fit very nicely.
