I've started using My Plate at Live Strong to track my eating and I LOVE it. It makes it so easy to keep track of everything, especially since there's an app for it so I can use my iPod to record what I eat when I'm not at my computer. :)

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, guys!  Wow, it’s been a really long time since I posted last.  Like everyone else I’ve been busy with family and the holidays and it’s been wonderful!  My brothers (all except one of them and he lives in New Zealand, so he’s excused, lol) and their families all came down here to Arizona to visit for Thanksgiving.  My parents live right down the road from me, so it was really nice to have so much of the family here with us.  It’s the first time my boys got to meet any of their cousins!  Here’s a layout I did of them all together.  (Those are my two on the far left.  Yes, the crying one is mine.  Of course.  lol)

cousins_thanksgiving2011

I used Flergs and Eva Kipler’s Leaf It to Me.  It’s one of my favorite autumn kits!

My husband is starting school again in January and we had to run some paperwork over today.  Fortunately, my parents had agreed to take the boys for the morning, so we didn’t have to drag them all over town with us (because there’s nothing five year olds love more than being stuck in a car all morning)!  When we went back to pick them up my mom had made gingerbread men and she said the boys helped!  Adam helped cut them out and Lukey frosted them, and there was a whole plate waiting for us!  Have I mentioned how much I love gingerbread?  Especially the kind made with so much love?!  Haha!

Anyway, I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  I hope it’s wonderful and you get to spend lots of warm and happy time with your loved ones!  Be safe and have a great weekend!

Summer Love

I have three last collabs to finish before I’m done for my break.  This one is a sweet little kit I did with Boutique Cute Doll!  It’s 20% off through the weekend!

Hi, My Name Is Ellie…

It seems like so long since I last posted anything but new products and freebies, that I think maybe people have forgotten me.    I’ve been busy with real life (who hasn’t been?!) and let myself fall into the routine of just posting when there’s something new in the shop.  So I thought I’d talk about myself for a bit and what’s been going on (try to contain your excitement).  LOL

We have been caught in the awful economy with my husband losing his job and not being able to find another – not just another in his field, but another at all.  2010 was a very rough year.  We’re hoping that 2011 will be better and he’ll be able to find something soon.   But life hasn’t been all bad!  Early last year we moved into a new house and that has been wonderful.  We’ve lived in apartments most of our married lives and having a house with a yard for the boys to play in has been better than awesome!

The boys also moved to a new school, which I was apprehensive about since I LOVED their old school, but I shouldn’t have worried.  Their new school is just as wonderful and I adore their teacher and therapists!  The boys turned four in September, but they have some developmental delays so they go to a special preschool and they love it.  Luke has just been diagnosed as being autistic.  I had been thinking this for a couple of years now, but no one would diagnose him.  The doctors just kept telling me that the boys were simply a little delayed and they would catch up.  So we finally have a diagnosis for Luke and are working on a diagnosis for Adam.  I don’t believe he’s autistic, but he might be.  He does have sensory issues and is just barely starting to speak real words with real intent.  Anyway, Luke was just transferred to a new school with a program better equipped for his needs, so he and Adam are split up for the first time in their lives but they are both coping with it great!   With the boys settled I am feeling much more settled, too.  The only thing I really don’t like is that they catch every little cold or cough that comes around at school and bring it home.  They are sick so much!  Is that normal?  They aren’t normally sickly kids (they weren’t sick at all through the summer break), but for some reason they seem to be sick a lot since starting school.

I’ve been trying to scrap more this year and with that in mind I signed up for a journaling class called Tell Me More by Chelle of Chelle’s Creations at ScrapMatters.  So far, so good!  I like to scrap, but I never journal enough, so this should be a great class for me.  Speaking of scrapping, here are a couple of layouts I’ve done in the last little while.  (And while I do use my own designs to scrap with sometimes, by the time I’m done designing them I need a break from them, so I scrap a lot with other designers, too!  You’ll notice that I’m a big fan of Flergs.)

And I think that Luke might be taking after me and getting into doodling!  Check out his artwork on the living room wall (sorry about the lighting!):

He loves to draw these little happy people!  I know, I know, we DO try to keep the Sharpies away from him, but the kid is a houdini and can get into/on top of/through anything!  You can’t tell from the photo, but this little beauty is about four feet tall.   There are five more of them in his bedroom and I really need to paint over them, but they are so cute that I find myself procrastinating.  Of course, he did get a scolding for this, but I can’t help feeling a little proud of him, too.

Alrighty, I’ve got sick kids and they’re waking up so I need to run, but I’m going to try to post just regular stuff about life on my blog at least once a week, so I’ll be back to bore you with more later!  LOL

Have a great week!

Grab Bag, New Kits, Guest Spot!

Wow, July has just begun but it’s already started as one of the busiest months this year for me!  I have a lot of new stuff this weekend, including a new grab bag and a guest spot at one of my favorite stores.  This grab bag has six new items.  They will only be available through the grab bag and will be retired at the end of the month.  If you want to see what’s inside beforehand check out the product page – there are previews of everything in the extra images.  Just $3!

I also have a new kit called Goodnight Bedbugs!  It’s got all kinds of cute little bugs with great big eyes in it!  Just drawing them made me laugh!   There are a few extra items that have been put together in a bundle, too.  The kit and extra items (word art, styles, and extra bugs) are all 30% off this weekend, but you can save 40% by purchasing the bundle.

Here are some layouts by my awesome creative team (and Anne Quade of Fishbowl Designs)!

So that’s what’s going on at Sunshine Studio, but this month I’m also a guest at…

I’m so excited!  I love ScrapMatters.  I sold there way back in the beginning and I just adored everyone there.  I’m really pleased to be getting a chance to go back for a bit.  To open the month with I created a kit in honor of the Fourth of July.  It (and all of the extras – word art, frame clusters, solid papers, styles, and extra alphas) are on sale this weekend for 30% off, but if you buy the bundle you can save 46%!  Check it out!

Oh my goodness, that was a lot of images!   If you’re still with me, thank you!

Now go on and have a wonderful and safe weekend!  And Happy Independence Day to all you fellow Americans out there!

Shenanigans

It’s official, I’m in love!  With a kit!  lol  Have you seen Flergs’ new kit, Shenanigans???  Of course you have!  Do you love it as much as I do???  It is my absolute new favorite kit of hers and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and scrap with it.  See?  (I also used one of NeeNee’s Flick’s Templatez, which I couldn’t live without.  I LOVE her templates!)

This kit is so absolutely gorgeous.  *sigh*  I’m happy now.

What’s your favorite kit right now?  (And, yes, I promise not to be jealous if it isn’t one of mine!  LOL)

Almost Better!

Thank you to everyone who left a comment or suggestion (or just plain sympathy!) concerning my caffeine withdrawals.  I’ve had a miserable few days, but am finally starting to feel better.  I’ve been drinking more water and Crystal Lite (what are your favorite flavors?  I’m really liking Raspberry Ice!) and have been valiantly taking my vitamins, so hopefully I will be back to good in a day or two.

I’m working on a new kit, but I have no idea when I’ll be finished with it.  The lack of caffeine has stolen my mojo as well as my energy, I think.  lol  Right now I’m just trying to relax and spend time with the kids.

However, I am participating in the ADSR4 and amazingly I got my first layout finished!  You know how I feel about my own attempts at scrapping, so this whole race is a huge challenge for me, but I’m excited about having a bunch of cool layouts at the end of the race.  Here’s my LO from the first challenge:

Growlie

Are you racing, too?  Did you enjoy the first challenge?

I probably won’t be posting for a couple of days.  Lynn Kurland’s latest book is coming out tomorrow (I’ll be on my way to Borders as soon as they open!) and I just got a notice that Amazon shipped a whole boxful of books I ordered last week, so I may be occupied for a little while.  lol  It’s going to be a very nice week, I think!

Have a great week yourselves!

I Scrapped!

I went to a speed scrap hosted by my lovely friend Melanie and came away with this layout.  I almost never have time to scrap anymore, so I was super pleased to be able to get something done in an hour!  Gotta love speed scraps!

And now I’m headed to bed with a book.  Could my evening possibly get any better?  Doubtful!  lol

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

I’ve Been Scrapping!

I just finished a new kit (out tomorrow!) and found myself with a little extra time on my hands!  That never happens.  lol  So I scrapped a layout and I’m pretty pleased with it.  I can’t take any real credit for it, though.  I was lacking inspiration, so I went browsing through the gallery at SBG and scrap-lifted a layout by one of my Angels, Jen!  Click HERE to see her beautiful original.  And this is my lift.  My son’s name is Adam, but we nicknamed him Amadan Dubh (if you read Karen Moning, you may recognize the name) and his baby-nickname is Ammy (sounds like Tommy without the T).

Be sure and stop by tomorrow.  I’ll be showing off my new kit and will have a little freebie for you as well!  :D

CT Brilliance & A Freebie!

I’ve been such a slacker about posting lately, I feel terrible!  Especially when my CT has been working so hard making such beautiful things with my designs!  So let me share some of what they’ve been up to!  (Click the images to leave them some love!)

I am SO in love with this layout by Jeannette using my Saturday Afternoon Romance kit!  Isn’t it just beautiful?  It’s the kind of layout I love, but could never scrap because I’m just not that talented!  LOL  Thank heaven for talented CT girls!

Here’s a fun layout (check out that selective coloring!) by Aly.  It looks SO summery I can almost taste the watermelon!  She used pieces of Mango Tango and Vicky’s Summer Vacation.

This next one is from Lori using Scatter Sunshine.  I just love the simplicity of it.  The photos totally take center stage (as they should, they are adorable!) and I love how she used the theme of three for the entire layout.  Beautiful!

Tracy create this LO using Summer Lovin’ at a ScrapMatters speed scrap!  Can you believe she made it in only an hour??  lol  I love it, it turned out beautifully!

Next is a layout by Sassypixie, again using Summer Lovin’!  The photo fits so perfectly with the theme of the kit, doesn’t it?  I love the cluster of flowers off to the side and all of her layering is just beautiful!

Last, but definitely not least, is this super sweet layout by Mellisa.  I swear, I cried when I saw it for the first time.  You know me, any kind of longing for babies tugs at my heartstrings!  She used Dulcet to create this, along with my Ancient Love Letters alpha.   I love her title!  Just plain awesome!

And I have a little freebie for you!  I’m embarrassed to admit that this entire month my computer has been wearing a June desktop (lol) so I decided to get a little ahead of the game and create my August wallpaper now.  And after I did I thought why not share it with you?  So, if you are in need of a desktop for August, I got you covered!  Click the size below the image to download it!

Mellisa created this one using These Crazy Days. Isn’t that photo awesome? I love it!

And here are two beautiful LO’s by Lori! In this first one she used These Crazy Days. I think the black background makes the bright colors look so striking!

And using Dulcet. Isn’t that photo gorgeous???

And tonight I attended the speed scrap at ScrapMatters so of course I have to post about it! Sassypixie hosted and she always does such a fabulous job! I had a great time and ended up with a LO I actually really like! I used Kay Miller’s All Organic (one of my all time favorite kits!) and my own Stitched On Alpha.

Wow~! That was a lot of images! Sorry about that, but I had a lot to share! LOL Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!!!
