Monday Makeover

Happy Monday!  Jen here, with today’s makeover…well, it’s sort of a makeover.  My makeover today is of a paper layout I did a couple years ago…

While I still like the layout (other than the fact that I STILL haven’t done any journaling on it!) I wanted to re-do it for a couple of reasons…first, I love these pictures, and I couldn’t resist doing a digital layout with them.  Second, one of my goals for this year is to make an entire album about our trips to Jewell’s Island (the above layout is for my son’s album).  My husband’s family went there every summer during his childhood, and it is something we try to do every summer with our kids too…and I want to have these special memories preserved for them.  So, here is my new layout, done with Ellie’s designs…

Those adorable little crabs are from Aquamarine (so are the frames & seaweed).  The brown paper is from her Its Only Natural Paper Pack, and the blue paper is from Saturday Afternoon Romance.  And I used Stitched On Alpha {Dark} for my title.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Sunday Fan-Fare

Happy New Year

Happy New Year. This is the time of year for us to set our New Year resolutions. A great thing to do is to create a vision board. Keep your goals in front of you. I made this poster using Ellies Dream Mini Kit to create my dream board. I will be hanging this poster next to my vanity so as I prepare for the day I can focus on my goals and dreams. Notice too that I left a little space on my vision board so that I can add some goals and dreams to the board as the year goes along. I had it printed up into the format of a 12×18 poster. I love Ellie’s Dream Mini Kit for this. Check it out.

I also wanted to add a 2nd project in here. I missed posting a weekend project last Saturday because I was attending my Grandmother’s funeral. She was such a sweet lady. She used to make all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of her hundreds of Sunday school students she had over the years Raggedy Anne dolls. So at the funeral we all brought our dolls with us. I paired the picture with Ellie’s Shabby Spice Kit. It really has a Raggedy Anne feel to it. I loved my grandma so much. I love this picture of her waving good bye. “God Be With You ‘Til We Meet Again.”

A really special thing at the funeral was that I had made a few projects for my Grandma over the past few years. I had made a book about her 88th birthday party. I had also made her two big posters for her 90th birthday party with a list of 90 reasons to love Ruby. Both were able to be on display at her funeral. It made me proud that I had taken the time to let her know I love her before it was too late. So take the time to make a project for your loved ones while they are still living. They deserve it.

Rawring in the New Year

I bet you were about to give up on me, huh? Shoulda-woulda-coulda’s aren’t productive, but I *should* have written this post last night before I went to sleep (and will when I figure out how to pre-publish!) Then you wouldn’t be waiting so long to see the goodies Ellie put into the studio recently. Well, wait no more … here we go!

Rawr! was created for dinosaur-loving kids everywhere, this kit is full of cute little dinosaurs and prehistoric foliage perfect for scrapping those little explorer layouts! And guess what?!

There are quick pages, too! Hurry and click here to go straight to Ellie’s Studio store. I’ll try and be more on task next week. Until then, take care and do good things! Oh, and when you scrap with Ellie goodies - and you WILL, won’t you?! - make sure you let us know, either here in the comments, or by email, so you can be entered into the weekly Fan-Fare drawing.

Peace,

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome to our Thursday Challenge and a new year with the angels! I’m sure you have noticed how cute Ellie has made our little blog. First thing I would like to announce the last 2 winners for our Thursday challenges. With the holidays and people traveling and moving we did not choose Mandi’s winner last week. So for Mandi’s Quick Page challenge from 2 weeks ago, our winner is Heather, I love how she used the kit and the word art is awesome…

and from Aly’s challenge last week we have this adorable layout from Beckie Louise showing her favorite things…

Thank you to both of you for participating!!! I will PM you soon with your $5 GC.

For this week I am doing something different. I wanted to concentrate on some yearly challenges or goals. The biggest one by far is the Project 365 challenge at Scrapbook Graphics. A photo a day for 2009. I have always wanted to do this challenge but have always seen it too far into the year. I have started a separate blog just for my photos. Another challenge that I started last year and didn’t finish was to do a Digi-Journal. Scrapbook your journal throughout the year! There is a blog post on this here with a template to go along with it. I thought that the 2 would actually work very good together because one of the reasons why I stopped doing it last year is because I got too far behind and forgot what I even did that week. With a photo and a blog post everyday I shouldn’t have a hard time remembering what happened that week. Another challenge that I think is fun is something that Hummie from Hummie’s World has started doing! It’s to take a mugshot everyday. I’m not too sure about this one because I’m not exactly picture worthy everyday! LOL! Hummie is very brave! You can check out her progress here.

Here are a few examples that you can start on today that will last the whole year. For the challenge this week I want you to leave a comment of some kind of challenge or resolution that you are working on this year! It can be non-scrapbook related if you want and if you want to scrapbook it and share you can too! Everyone who comments will be put into a random drawing for the gift certificate this week!

I hope your year has started out fabulous!

Happy New Year’s Eve Freebie!

Hi everyone. Aly here… hijacking the blog for a moment. It’s not my day to post, but I just put together a word art from a quote that was in my inbox today. Since Ellie has the best fans in the world, I thought I’d pop on here for just a second and give you a freebie.

It’s already 2009 on the other side of my world - and it’s closing  in on midnight in Australia as I type this - so let me wish you peace, blessings, hope and prosperity in 2009. Be kind to each other, and compassionate with yourself. Enjoy!

Link fixed 4:53pm ET. Sorry, all, I was out all day and just got back and read the comments. I didn’t know how to take a PW “off” of 4shared, so here’s a direct link. Let me know if it works, please?!

Happy New Year!
